One of Iowa's Nine Âé¶¹Éçʼþs

Grant Wood Âé¶¹Éçʼþ is one of the nine Âé¶¹Éçʼþs that comprise . GWÂé¶¹Éçʼþ and the other Âé¶¹Éçʼþs are accredited by the Iowa Department of Education (DE), and are required to meet a series of performance standards as part of this accreditation. Funding for the Âé¶¹Éçʼþs

Unlike local school districts, the Âé¶¹Éçʼþ system has no taxing authority. The agency is funded by a per-pupil assessment designated by the Legislature, by federal funds, various grants, and sale of services. Grant Wood Âé¶¹Éçʼþ invests approximately 75 percent of its funding in serving children with disabilities. The remainder of the agency’s budget provides a variety of educational and media/technology services to schools and communities.
